Now the Dole Fruit Company, the Standard Fruit Company has a long history in Honduras, originally exporting bananas from La Ceiba to New Orleans, thereby creating the first 'Banana Republic'.

This carriage is one of several goods wagons along with a steam engine, now permanently displayed near the central park area in La Ceiba.

The tranquil little town of Copán Ruinas, famous for it's Mayan archaeological site, is also a popular border-crossing into Guatemala.
