The Great Mingun Bell - the world's largest bell. Cast in 1808, the bell is some 13 feet tall, and weighs 90.55 metric tons (about 200 US tons).

Instantly recognisable as an Indian Muslim restaurant in Myanmar by the number '786'. In the photo, you can also just about make out the star and crescent below the number.
In various South Asian countries, the number 786 is used as a substitute for 'Bismillah' - the Arabic phrase 'In the name of Allah the most beneficent and merciful'.

Refreshing watermelon and not-so-refreshing carbonated drinks - but any liquid is welcome in this heat!

One of my favourite photos for it's lovely simplicity: the beautiful warm colours and textures and the traces of mud on the hat, the bamboo, the machete, the wall of the hut, the everyday bits and pieces, the recent rain and the lovely light. Everything combines to make an image that could not have been set up more beautifully: a scene that cried out to be photographed.

One of many sunset pictures taken from the temple rooftops in the sprawling plains of Bagan.

I had to get wet for this one!
Being such a gem of a photo location, I spent most of the day at U-beins bridge. Just prior to finding some shade in the middle of the day, I was getting some shots from underneath the bridge when three guys turned up to do some fishing.
The resultant photos were inevitably high in contrast, but provided some timeless images.
