England Travel Photography

Technical
- Most images (1997 to 2006), were taken on a Canon EOS5, mostly using Fujichrome Velvia.
- Newer images (2008 to 2010) have been taken with a Canon EOS40D.
- Most older images were taken on a Pentax K2.
- A very few pictures (1980 - 1983), were taken with a manual Fuji ST605N.
- Film stock was predominantly KR64 (Kodachrome ASA/ISO 64). Lots of other film stock was used (often according to local availability).
Hardware
- Cameras: Canon EOS40D; Canon EOS5; Pentax K2; Fuji ST605N.
- Flash: On-camera fill in (occasionally used, always at -1/2 or-1 stop)
- Film: Now digital, film stock has varied over the years: Mostly Fujichrome Velvia; some Fujichrome Provia, Ektachrome, Mostly Ilford FP4 & HP5 for B/W; and Kodachrome 64 (KR64), in earlier times.
- Lenses: Canon EF zooms. 28-50mm f3.5-5.6; 75-300mm f4-5.6
- Tripod: Manfrotto - fantastic, solid beast - weighs a ton.
- Filters: Hoya Skylight (1B); Polarising (only very occasionally).
Software
- Image Editing/Optimisation: Adobe Photoshop 6.0 & CS3, Lightbox 1.4
- Photoshop Actions: Midnight Sepia v2 by Dave Jaseck. Used on this portrait and this one (with a lot of other work previously!)
- Web Editor: Macromedia (now Adobe) Dreamweaver 8.02
- Database/coding: MySQL/PHP using MySQL-Front, and a self-coded Admin section of this site.
- Form mailer: Script from Dagon Design (adapted).
- Site layout: based on Project Seven's Keylime, and adapted from there.
- Photo Galleries: Project Seven again, (bless their lil' cotton socks!): Image Gallery Magic, and (on the travel photo thumbnails page): Tab Panel Magic (Note: the image retrieval on this page - among others - is hand-coded. The gallery pages have also been adapted to make them dynamic).
